On October 2, 2009, the Korean Language Flagship Center (KLFC) held its annual Chusok ("Harvest") Celebration. Chusok falls on August 15 by the lunar calendar, and in 2009, it fell on October 2. Attended by 50+ people (KLFC Director Dr. Ho-min Sohn, KFLC Recruitment Advisor Dr. Dong Jae Lee, EALL chair Dr. Alexander Vovin, Korean section head Dr. Mee-Jeong Park, all nine members of the KLFC faculty, all 29 KLFC students, plus a dozen tutors, parents and other family members), the celebration included presentations by the Flagship undergraduate students and games led by the Flagship graduate students. Also, everyone had a chance to try their hand at making "songpyun," a type of rice cake traditionally made during Chusok.
